A top-down interior plan that shows dimensions (wall lengths, areas) usable for project discussions. In Kodarch, the plan is strictly 2D and remains indicative until validated on site by a professional.

Budget range
An interval between a low and a high amount around a median budget. In the Kodarch calculator, the median is the sum of selected work items; the low bound is about −10% and the high about +18%. It is not a firm quote.
Indicative estimate
An order-of-magnitude cost to frame a project before contractor quotes. Kodarch amounts are shown with a VAT-inclusive label on unit rates: they have no contractual value.
Pre-quote
A structured priced proposal sent by a tradesperson from a client share link, often without a mandatory account. It helps compare offers to the homeowner’s initial range, without replacing a signed quote.
Quote (devis)
The tradesperson’s commercial document (often contractual once accepted) detailing works, prices and terms. Kodarch helps prepare and compare, but does not produce an electronically signed legal quote.
Work item
A cost line for a type of work (paint, flooring, electrics, bathroom pack…). In the calculator, only selected items enter the budget range.
Site survey
Taking room dimensions on site (length, width, height) to produce a first plan. Kodarch’s express survey speeds up this start; it does not replace a certified take-off.
Take-off (métré)
Precise quantification of works (m², linear metres, units) often used as the basis for a quote. Kodarch areas and quantities are orders of magnitude for discussion, not an execution take-off.
Floor area (m²)
The floor area of the room. In area-only mode, Kodarch also estimates walls assuming a square room; in length × width mode, walls are calculated from the perimeter.
Technical dossier
An exportable set (plan, areas, dimensions, useful elements) to archive or share a project. In Kodarch, PDF export and link sharing serve this need — not an architect’s drawing or planning permission file.

A URL that lets a recipient (often a tradesperson) view the plan and, depending on the flow, send a pre-quote — frequently without creating an account.
Variant
An alternative version of the same space (another layout or design approach). Useful to compare two arrangements before deciding as a couple or with a designer.

A Kodarch pre-quote is a structured proposal, often entered from a share link, for quick comparison. A quote (devis) is the tradesperson’s commercial document, with contractual value under their terms once accepted.
Is a Kodarch dimensioned plan enough to order bespoke work?
It helps prepare the discussion and visualise clearances, but dimensions remain indicative until validated on site. For bespoke joinery or kitchens, a professional must confirm measurements.
Why a range instead of a single price?
Works vary with property condition, finish level and unknowns. The range (median ± factors) frames a realistic envelope without claiming to be a firm quote.
Does Kodarch replace a take-off or a surveyor?
No. Kodarch speeds up surveying and budget framing. A take-off or professional validation remains necessary for an execution-level quote.
