Terms of service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Purpose
These terms of service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the online Kodarch service (“the Service”), published by Stephen Hervouët as a natural person. By accessing or using the Service, you unreservedly accept these Terms.
2. Service description
Kodarch lets you draw volumes, add openings, place furniture, estimate a renovation budget range, export a PDF dossier, share a project via link, document a job site (photos, voice notes, documents) and, for professional accounts, manage job sites and pre-quotes. The Service is provided “as is”, with features available at the time of use. Technical or editorial changes may occur without notice.
This is a personal project under active development: imperfections or malfunctions may occur. The publisher's status and service limitations are set out in the legal notice.
3. Account and access
Some features require creating an account or signing in via a third-party provider (e.g. Google). You agree to provide accurate information and keep your authentication credentials confidential. Any use of the Service under your account is deemed to be by you. You may choose a personal or professional account type depending on your use.
4. Content and projects
You retain your rights to content you create in the Service to the extent you hold them. You remain solely responsible for respecting third-party rights (images, imported data, recordings, documents, etc.) and for the accuracy of information entered. You grant the publisher a limited licence to host, back up and technically process this content solely to provide the Service.
5. Indicative nature — plans, areas and budgets
Non-contractual plans and estimates
Kodarch provides a simplified 2D plan tool and budget estimation for decision support only.
Plans, areas, volumes and budget ranges generated on Kodarch:
- are not technical execution drawings;
- are not intended for construction or planning permission applications;
- do not constitute a quote, contract or binding document;
- may contain inaccuracies due to input or model simplifications.
The publisher cannot be held liable for misuse of plans or figures, or for any decision based on this information.
Visualisations and PDF exports are strictly indicative. They do not replace a qualified professional (architect, surveyor, engineer, contractor, etc.). To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher disclaims liability for errors, inaccuracies or interpretations of displayed information, and for indirect damage arising from using the Service for real works.
6. Share links and pre-quotes
The Service can generate consultation or collaboration links. People accessing a link without an account may view shared elements and, depending on enabled options, annotate the plan or submit a pre-quote proposal.
Kodarch acts as a technical intermediary for sharing information. It is not party to contractual relationships between users (homeowner, tradesperson, designer). Pre-quotes and estimates sent via the Service are indicative proposals: their validation, regulatory compliance and legal value are solely between the parties involved.
7. AI-assisted features
Some features (voice note transcription, product information extraction from a product page) rely on third-party artificial intelligence services. Results are provided as assistance and may be inaccurate: you must verify them before any decision. By submitting an audio recording or URL, you confirm you have the necessary rights to that content.
8. Conduct and prohibited uses
You must not use the Service to infringe third-party rights, bypass security measures, introduce malware, overload infrastructure, collect other users’ data without a legal basis, or harm the integrity or reputation of the Service. The publisher may suspend or restrict access in case of serious breach of these Terms.
9. Intellectual property
The brand, visual identity, code, service structure and protected elements remain the property of the publisher or its partners. No licence other than that required for normal browser use of the Service is granted to you.
10. Changes and termination
These Terms may be updated; the “last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the Terms in force. You may stop using the Service at any time. The publisher may limit, modify or discontinue the Service in compliance with applicable law.
11. Governing law and disputes
Unless mandatory public policy provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, and failing amicable resolution within a reasonable time, competent French courts may be seized, subject to mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules.
